California schools chief to appeal ruling striking down teacher tenure

http://www.scpr.org/news/2014/08/29/46380/california-schools-chief-to-appeal-ruling-striking/

California's schools chief will seek an appeal of a court ruling that struck down tenure and other job protections for teachers.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson says the ruling by a Los Angeles judge isn't supported by facts or the law and says it unfairly blames teachers for flaws in the education system.

Torlakson was a teacher, and it shows. Hopefully he'll beat that little troll Marshall Tuck like a rented mule come November.

You can just feel it here that things are getting better. Every day, there's good news coming out. He's not perfect, but he's pretty darn good. He's got a lot of catching up to do, but he's no shrinking violet.

...in California.
I always thought he was a visionary...way ahead of his time during his first term as governor. But now, with that...and experience as both Atty. General and mayor added...he is just what California needed during these challenging times.
