as I did every Earth Day for a week in April they learned that plastic can be recycled, but never can "turn into dirt again". That is how they understood "biodegrade". Styrofoam, they even learned to say polystyrene. Never can be recycled or turns into dirt. I hope they remember this as they grow up unlike my generation. They used to beg me to "take a recycling field trip" where we would go all over the entire school for 30 min and pick up trash. It was as if they were going to Disneyland they would be so happy and they picked up the tiniest pieces of paper and they liked to get dirty. My generation liked "plastics".
