2020 was warmest April on record according to NASA, 2nd warmest according to NOAA

NOAA's April Global State of the Climate Report released Wednesday found global land and ocean temperatures were 1.06 degrees Celsius (1.91 degrees Fahrenheit) above the 20th-century average.

That may not sound impressive, but in the realm of global temperatures, this warm anomaly was second only to 2016 as the planet's warmest April in NOAA records dating to 1880.

NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies found April 2020 global average temperatures across all land and ocean surfaces were the warmest on record in their records, which also date to 1880. Temperatures were 0.04 degrees Celsius above the previous record warmest April in 2016.

It was the 11th straight month in the top two warmest respective months in NASA's database, a streak that began in June 2019.
