The USS Arizona has been leaking oil in Pearl Harbor since 1941...

Ecological considerations aside, the technology involved in underwater drilling in the first place is remarkable.
Then the tech involved in preventing and mitigating spills is incredible.

Oil spills cause so much lasting damage, it's a relief that they came up with a means to address it.
