Containing the longest-running oil spill in U.S. history - 60 Minutes

In 2004, Hurricane Ivan brought down a massive oil platform operated by Taylor Energy, in the Gulf of Mexico. For years, oil has been seeping into the Gulf. Jon Wertheim reports on the efforts of a Coast Guard captain and a Cajun engineer to find a solution.

The USS Arizona has been leaking oil in Pearl Harbor since 1941...

Ecological considerations aside, the technology involved in underwater drilling in the first place is remarkable.

Then the tech involved in preventing and mitigating spills is incredible.

Oil spills cause so much lasting damage, it's a relief that they came up with a means to address it.
