The National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition inspired nearly 300 university teams across the country to create new businesses to commercialize promising energy technologies developed at U.S. universities and the National Laboratories. After pitching their business plans to panels of judges at the regional semifinals and finals, six teams advanced to the national competition for a chance to compete in the popular vote and a grand prize determined by an expert panel of judges.

Now it's your chance to vote for the most promising student-run start-up company out of the six finalists below.

Voting opens at 10 a.m. EDT on May 24. Review the company summaries, view their three-minute video pitches, and then 'like' the companies you think will most positively impact America's energy future.

Voting runs until 2 p.m. at June 13, and the team with the most ‘likes’ will be announced the next day along with the grand prize winner.

To see the teams in action, pitching their plans before the panel of expert judges, register here to attend the National Clean Energy Business Plan Pitches. The Business Plan Pitches are being held at the Department of Commerce, Washington D.C., at an open event and will run from 9 a.m to 1:30 p.m.
