Lots of global heating news. Sidewalks in Phoenix hitting 160F and causing people contact burns. Last week was the globally hottest week in history, and the coming week will be hotter. Death Valley is positioned to record the highest surface temperature ever reliably recorded.

NOAA posts a map of sea surface temperatures.

Click on the Persian Gulf. Water there is close to 100F. That's incredible.
Click on the Gulf/Caribbean area. Waters around and near Cuba and in Florida Bay are in the 90s. There's an eddy of hotter water in the middle of the Gulf. All this hot water is major storm fuel. El Niño works against major hurricanes, but all that hot water is worrisome.
It's only going to get worse. Heat kills.
