The droughts in the Midwest caused by Climate Change are taking their toll on corn production. The situation has now deteriorated to the point where corn-based ethanol production facilities have been halted due to lack of supply.

The traditional distinction between energy sources is between renewables and nonrenewables.
But a better breakdown, IMHO, distinguishes fuel-based versus non-fuel-based sources.
Thus, wind, solar, and hydro, which have no fuel to extract, process, transport, and waste-management, stand apart from the rest.
I don't, however, mind methane recovery and cellulosic ethanol, where it truly makes sense.
Corn fuel, no thanks.
