and with all those retirees, too, who could really use the stability.

3. What we need to do is to push a change in the paradigm -

utilities need to be thinking in terms of re-distributing and storing power, and providing the grid to do that. They need to abandon a business plan based on large central power plants. It makes sense that people be charged a base fee for the cost of maintaining the grid if they are hooked up to it. That's part of my bill already.
