ok y'all liked my last tip, so here's another- wood cleaner.

so, i use olive oil shampoo and conditioner. available in the 'black hair' section of most drug/grocery stores.
a tbsp in a quart of water makes a great wood cleaner. a little, straight, on a cloth or a scrubbie, and it will take off any kind of stain, including water rings.

spray it on, let sit a few, and wipe off w a damp cloth.
then do the same w the conditioner for a great sealer/polish.

i have a kick ass steamer. i use it for everything.
spray down a wood floor, run the steamer over it, run a wet mop over it, then treat w the conditioner.

i hate to clean. but i got the lazy woman's cleaning chops.

If that is so, then I can say that a "lazy woman" has a very creative and practical streak. alwaysinasnit Oct 2020 #3

It would jack up your finish as well as open up the grain and push water into the wood, causing it to expand, possibly crack and/or contract when it dries leaving gaps.

my floors get pretty dirty. but a quick sweep is fine. gets the crap and grit out of the finish.

but i have a couple of floors where the finish is old, and well, finished.
the narrow nozzle will get the crap of out of the cracks, and they settle back flatter when they dry.
