Now in New York City passing accidents are the major cause of death of cyclists:

By 90% of all pedestrians killed by automobiles in New York City, the fault is clearly the Driver of the Automobile NOT the Pedestrian.

In A Toronto report, higher bicycle support and use, lead to a drop in accidents involving bicycles:

Here is the US Federal National Highway Traffic Safety Study of 2005:

On page 133 of that report it shows that while 29.3% of Cyclist are killed at Intersections, that raises to 61.8% of all accidents if total injuries are counted.

Of Course you have to read the report carefully, when it comes to the cause of the Accident on page 136, 48.1% of the accidents no cause was known, and the rest shows various problems, but NOT if the cyclist or the driver was at fault.
