After that - supplement and have it checked regularly. Low b12 will make you feel like death.

I think that the B12 in most B12 supplements is made by microbial critters. You'll want to make sure your supplement says something like "suitable for vegetarians." I'm pretty sure that, in regard to B12, "suitable for vegetarians" also means suitable for vegans. But there are probably more knowledgeable people than I in this group--I don't normally come here and only stumbled upon this thread on the "latest" page.

sprinkle nutritional yeast on your popcorn, salads, everything. It contains b-12 and helps to provide a cheesy taste on foods, we use it on pasta too, use there as you would Parmesan cheese. But don't even flirt with pernicious anemia, it's no joke. Find a non-animal based supplement and break out the nut. yeast

... on salads (plus seaweed flakes); on oven toasted bread (with earth balance); on popcorn (also with earth balance); as the main ingredient for vegan nacho cheese (really good over chewy seitan); stirred up in veganaise for a cheesy sandwich spread; added to tofu eggy scramble.

Really, I just add it to anything. Love the taste. Buy it in bulk.

If not, I've heard really great things about the transdermal patches. Personally I've never tried them because they're comparatively expensive, but they should get your results up quickly.

I've used the same sublingual spray forever and my blood tests are always fantastic, but I don't know if it would be good enough to get your levels back up quickly on it's own. Thanks for the reminder.

Vegetarian (non dairy) since a cold night in 1995 sitting in the ICU watching monitors til dawn (widowmaker heart attack) after typical Thanksgiving feast.

ER's are poorly staffed that night - could have been a bad scene.

He's still around (thank God!!!!!) and is a daily runner and....vegetarian thanks to Dean Ornish diet.
