UN report: N.Korea speeding up missile development despite sanctions

A United Nations panel examining sanctions on North Korea says the country has been obtaining money through cyberattacks and using it to pursue its nuclear and missile development programs.

The panel of experts with the UN Security Council is set to publish its annual report shortly.

UN diplomatic sources say the report points out that North Korea has been dodging sanctions and has upgraded its capability to produce nuclear fissile materials.

The report's analysis concludes that last month, the North accelerated test launches of new-type ballistic missiles and others using solid and liquid fuel, and displayed the upgraded capabilities of its missile unit.
