Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this Sunday, National Day of the Russian Navy, a new strategic naval doctrine that will intensify the activities of its ships in the Black and Azov Seas, as well as in the Arctic Ocean, among others, and by which state-of-the-art hypersonic missiles will be incorporated in some warships.
The new doctrine has been specifically conceived in view of the "threat to Russia" posed by "U.S. plans to dominate the oceans and shipping lanes," according to the document, reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.
To begin with, Russia will increase security in waters adjacent to the Russian Federation, including the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea -- with particular intensity in both, where Russia wants to develop a "comprehensive strengthening of its position" -- as well as in the eastern Mediterranean and the straits of the Black Sea, Baltic and Kuril Islands.
Russia also plans to intensify maritime activities in the Arctic to increase its ability to respond to "military activity of foreign states in the waters of the Northern Sea Route."

Considering how everything else has run in his military I guess we'll see a few sinkings.

(32,800 posts)As far as the US dominating the oceans, ask an military expert and theyll tell you we have dominated the Atlantic and the Pacific for decades. Unlike the orcs, were not the aggressors..that is only in pooties mind.
The Kuril islands..Japan is ready to take on Russia if they make moves there. The orcs will get their ass handed to them if they go up against the Japanese navy.
More posturing and bluffing
