Russia Just Fell for China's Biggest Trick Yet - Paul Warburg

Russia and China just signed an energy deal...but it's not what it seems. A lot of people are concerned about the Sino-Russian partnership, and that China may be trying to bail Russia out in its war against Ukraine. I see things differently, with a more consistent theme of China simply taking advantage of Russia's plight in Ukraine. Today's energy deal (and other deals) are no different, and I explain why.

Putin did not tell Xi what exactly was going to happen, and boasted it would
be no big deal and be over in three days. But it was a dismal failure and international
embarrassment.

It screwed with Xi's plans to invade Taiwan.

Xi was horrified to see the international backlash.
The sanctions scared him.

So Putin has been a frenemy and not to be trusted.
Xi is not to be trusted either.
Putin needs Xi a lot more than Xi needs Putin who has turned into a pain in the ass.
