Luxembourg's leading food retailer to stop marketing Israeli products

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/europe/20739-luxembourg-leading-food-retailer-to-stop-marketing-israeli-products

The largest grocery store chain in Luxembourg, Cactus, has decided to stop marketing fruit and vegetables imported from Israel until verifying that they not from Israeli settlements built on Palestinian occupied territories.

Israel’s Yediot Ahronot newspaper said on Sunday that Luxembourg’s leading food retailer had bowed to pro-Palestinian pressure, specifically from the organisation Just Peace in the Middle East, which has organised protests for months to put pressure on Cactus to stop marketing Israeli product.

The paper reported the food network as saying that Israeli products such as fruit and vegetables only provides a marginal income, so it has decided to stop marketing them in order to avoid protests outside its branches.

The newspaper pointed out that Israel’s Honorary Consul in Luxembourg Daniel Schneider has contacted the company’s management to convince it to revert its decision to stop marketing Israeli fruit and vegetables.

It's good for Israel, as Israeli products will be welcome, and it's good for the customers who can buy them knowing that they're "oppression-free".

It's also good for the Palestinians who only can get their own state if BDS is successful.
