Thousands of people turned up to the cemetery in Kfar Etzion on Friday morning for the funeral of Yaakov Don, an educator from Alon Shvut who was murdered in Thursday's shooting attack in Gush Etzion.
Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Edelstein criticized Israel's management of the current security situation, saying: "We know we are tackling terror. We will continue, in spite of the difficulties, to do so with the understanding that the reality needs to change."
In his eulogy for Don, Edelstein continued: "With a broken heart we have come here today to part from you. You were above all a human being, beautiful in the eyes of God and man."
Don was killed on Thursday when a Palestinian attacker drove his car onto the hard-shoulder on the congested road leading from Alon Shvut to Gush Etzion junction and opened fire at several vehicles. Two others were murdered in the attack: 18-year-old American volunteer Ezra Schwartz and Shadi Arafa, 40, a Palestinian resident of Hebron.
