Israeli settler law angers Palestinians, two-state advocates

Palestinians and proponents of the two-state solution on Tuesday fiercely criticised a new Israeli law allowing the appropriation of private Palestinian land for Jewish settler outposts.

The legislation passed late Monday, which legalises dozens of wildcat outposts and thousands of settler homes, prompted a call by the Palestinians for the international community to punish Israel.

Pro-Palestinian Israeli NGOs said they would ask the Supreme Court to strike down the law.

Opposition leader Isaac Herzog warned the legislation could result in Israeli officials facing the International Criminal Court.

Good to see Herzog standing up strongly against this.

travel options other than the USA. That's what happens to war criminals in a rogue state which gleefully rejects international human rights law.

The PA should (but won't) repudiate Oslo and dissolve itself.

The new law – which is likely to face an almost immediate challenge in the courts – was condemned by the Israeli opposition leader, Isaac Herzog, who warned before the vote that it would lead to Israel being tried at the international criminal court.

Comparing the legislation to a “freight train”, Herzog added: “Its cars will carry international indictments against Israeli and Jewish soldiers and officers. This indictment will be signed by the prime minister of Israel.”

Wasn't sure if you had seen it.

Now that you have, do you think it's a good one?
