Velshi: Biden Has The Tools To Fix Ties With The Palestinians. It's Time To Act - Velshi - MSNBC

Qatar, the host country of the World Cup, has a large Palestinian community. Activists have launched social media campaigns to raise global awareness for the Palestinian plight. Their goal, ultimately, is to make the Palestinian flag at least as recognizable as the Israeli flag. And to make the world care about their situation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Ali Velshi says It shouldn’t fall on ordinary Palestinians to amass support for their cause from the global community. The rest of the world knows what's happening there, and should do its part.

And this week saw a small step in that direction. The Biden Administration is reportedly appointing a new special representative for Palestinian affairs. It marks the first time the U.S. has created a Washington-based position at the State Department that is solely responsible for Palestinian Affairs. The creation of this post is progress. Hopefully it will start to repair relations with the Palestinians; relations that were injured by Donald Trump. - Aired on 11/26/2022.

It certainly is. This dire international situation has been on the back burner for far too long. Rhiannon12866 Nov 2022 #2

I don't think of the Biden administration appointment as anti-Israeli, but a long delayed effort to work towards peace. Both the Israelis and the Palestinians deserve that, especially after TFG's ill thought changes which did nothing to advance the peace effort.

What does a Palestinian state offer Palestinians that an Israeli state cannot?

Ethnic self-identity can exist quite successfully within parliamentary democracy.

I say choose assimilation and peace.

Israelis aren't going to give their country away, it's kinda racist to suggest they should. Should the NA tribes in the US assimilate into the Gen pop.? Of course not, because we as liberals respect indigenous rights.

Because he can't, it means different things to different people.

Here's more of the hate fest aka the world cup, and their views of the "Palestinian Cause".
