4. What many don't fully appreciate is that they fucking HATE us, they're trying to kill us, and they always have been

With the exception a begrudging peace developed over 75 with years, with Palestinian Israelis (Muslims who are living peacefully and prosperously with jews); with Egypt (in 1978 in exchange for returning the vast Sinai peninsula from which Egypt had staged their military for attack and had blocked off shipping to Israel); and with Jordan (for some of the West Bank that Jordan had annexed in 1948, a truly stolen land as a land grab, and Israel had captured because Jordan had their military for attack from there), Arab states have historically proven unwilling to live peacefully with Israel way before Hamas was even a thing, before Egypt ceded control of Gaza, etc.

There were failed land for peace talks with Lebanon and Syria, because, well, Hezbollah. How about the Houthis? Does the left support them too? They frame their current bombing as supporting Palestinians, but we know it is deeper than that. It always has been. They mostly want the Jews dead or otherwise out of the region.

As Israel has become strong both militarily and economically, surrounding nations are starting to realize co-existence is a necessary evil for them. But now it's an ongoing struggle with Islamic militant groups of all stripes - nestled in so many countries, all intent on destroying Israel (and the US, too). Some see this initiation of this current war as radical Islamist efforts to subvert Israeli peace talks with Saudi and UAE.

Gaza is a terrorist camp, run by Hamas through an underground network into public buildings shielded by real people, who Hamas considers their outer defense, treats as a human iron dome.

Add to that Iran and Quatar and Bahrain with their deep oil pockets are funding Hamas because they want the jews out of the middle east. Consider the "Nakba" of Jews forced from the 22 Arab Muslim countries - >1 million people ethnically cleansed from '48 to '67, expunged from the entire Arab world save for 0.1% of a tiny sliver of land, half desert, and half made arable by Israeli technology and focus on infrastructure.

What shall we do? Go back to Europe? They tried to exterminate us in 1945, almost did too, the Jewish population has not yet recovered pre-WWII numbers.

The bottom line here is for existential reasons, Israel dare not show weakness to any of its 22 surrounding hostile Arab states. She made it through repeated multi-country attacks/wars over the years, and now is facing dragged out terrorist war coming from hostile groups from all directions. And again and again, the Palestinians are being used as an excuse, but we all know it is really about getting rid of the Jews.

5. This is something the ICJ has to not much like.

There's the body count. It's half the definition.

Then there's intent.

One commentator said he was proud of the compelling and surely triumphant case laid out by the RSA lawyer at the ICJ. Then, he said, he heard all the information he wasn't aware of that pretty much undercut that "compelling" case, point by point, and was so far from sure that the RSA would win that he was pretty despondent for thinking the RSA would lose. (I'm far from agreed with him--looking at the roster of judges, I suspect Israel would have a difficult time getting 9/18 judges to even agree that the Hamas attack triggered the war, much less the biased death toll isn't facial evidence of intent. Russia, China, Somalia, Morocco, Lebanon are probably biased out of the gate; Uganda's seldom been Israel/Jew friendly; Jamaica comes with its own anti-oppressor rhetoric; India, Brazil and Slovakia have their own baggage. I assume the RSA judge, one of the 17, will go with RSA, leaving 6 that might have a priori claims to neutrality and no obvious bias. It's an uphill struggle to get 1/3 of those with likely biases to flip, and that assumes the other 6 all go with Israel.)

3. Maybe this will help you understand how the left has been propagandized by the Muslim world

Says that supporting Palestinian cause is a litmus test for today’s left, generated by anti-Semitic forces tied to Nazi propaganda, about how the actual narrative of Israel being formed on the heels of the holocaust because Jews fled there as victims of European imperialism to create a haven for Jews and the subsequent 30 years of Arab nations once again trying to genocide the Jews, how the narrative switched after the 70’s by framing Palestinians as the underdog and Israel as the bully.

Instead of knee jerking a response of objectification of women and not even considering the content of her words, maybe try to educate yourself from sources you may not agree with. That’s what I try to do. Otherwise, with you certain that you are so correct in your viewpoint, we’ll never get anywhere, Israel can be destroyed and once again, the Jews will have nowhere to go. The Palestinians can then go form the 23rd autocratic middle eastern state where women and queers have no rights.
