Rockets hit Sderot as Obama visits Israel

After a long period of calm following Operation Pillar of Defense, a Color Red alert sounded in the city of Sderot at around 7:15 am, followed by additional air raid sirens, one of them in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council.

One of the rockets hit the backyard of a house in Sderot, while another landed in an open area. There were no reports of injuries, but the yard sustained slight damage. Two additional rockets are believed to have landed on Palestinian territory. According to initial estimates, the rockets were fired from the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.

{...}

Sderot Mayor David Buskila is also certain that the Gaza fire is directly related to Obama's visit. "The rockets fired at the city this morning are the Gaza organizations' way of communicating with the US president who is now in Israel. I believe they are trying to tell him that he can go to Ramallah or any other place in the territories and finalize things with Abbas, but that they are the ones setting the tone in regards to calm or escalation in the region.

{...}

There are no Iron Dome batteries in the Sderot and Netivot area. several batteries have been deployed in the Ashdod and Ashkelon areas.

Rockets hit an area NOT protected by the Iron Dome missile defense that has been stalled by the Sequester? Man, do you think that maybe.....

....

Nah, THAT would be a conspiracy theory.

because Sderot is too near the border. Even a short-range missile defense system like Iron Dome needs a longer range than the couple of km that lies between Sderot and Beit Hanoun.

It's nothing to do with the sequester although I'm sure Iron Dome could do with more funding anyway.

Isreal wants the money to keep flowing.
Set off a couple of rockets in an an area not yet covered by Iron Dome.
Kinda underscores the idea that they need the funding for more missile defense. Gives congress th political cover they need to override the Sequester. And if a few people die from the explosions,just remember: your doing it for the Greater Good. The Money Tap must be reopened. Also has the side benefit of throwing some more taxpayer dollars into the US war Industries.
who did it?

Doesn't matter. Many will profit because of the rocket attack. The "Evil Arab terrorists" are the guilty party. Just ask anyone...

All that matters is the money starts flowing.

Courtesy of the US government.

Or maybe it is all a coincidence.

Of course, the original comment was meant to imply that I do not believe in coincidence anymore.

It was just a comment, however. I don't care enough about the subject to try and start some Holy war.

Regards......

... shoot rockets at themselves from Gaza.

But, wait a minute, there are no Israelis in Gaza ... they're even more clever than you thought.

With my missile defense equipment that my multinational defense business sells by hiring a few guys to shoot some rockets, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If I were in charge of the Mossad, and wanted to secure the funding for the iron dome, I'd do the same.

What do you think intellegence agents do for a living?

Like I said, just a comment. But I think the world is run a lot closer to my way of thinking than yours.

Anyways, the project will get its funding renewed soon. It has nothing to do with Isreal,palestine or the US.

Its just the money.

Just for the record, are you deliberately misspelling "Israel" out of snark or is it actual ignorance?

I was misspelling Israel because I did not know how to spell it. Thank you for helping me out.

My post has nothing to do with Jews. Please quit being defensive. The only divsion of the people of the world that I care about is that of Wealth. Religion, race, political parties are all distractions designed to draw our attention away from those in power.
I do not have a religious association, I do not listen to Infowars, and I am no big fan of Mel Gibson.
If you think that covert actions are not undertaken by governments and corporations, then please feel free to disagree with my assessment. But disagreeing with me is not a valid reason for calling me an anti-semite.

Israel crossed into Gaza, shot the rockets, got back out and THEN got Hamas to take credit for it. How stupid of us not to see this perfectly reasonable conspiracy theory. Kudos to your brilliance.
