Related: About this forumTzipi Livni says Israeli prime minister leading country into 'diplomatic isolation'
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/23/israel-opposition-netanyahu-isolationNetanyahus invitation to Congress by the Republican House speaker, John Boehner two weeks before Israel goes to the polls has attracted fierce criticism from US officials off the record, a cool reception from the State Department in public and sceptical commentary from Israeli columnists who have accused Netanyahu of engineering the speech to further his struggling election prospects.
We thought weve seen everything, the senior American official was quoted in Haaretz as saying. But Bibi managed to surprise even us. There are things you simply dont do. He spat in our face publicly and thats no way to behave. Netanyahu ought to remember that President Obama has a year and a half left to his presidency, and that there will be a price.
Another unnamed official quoted in the Washington Post and described as close to the US secretary of state, John Kerry suggested that price might be a diminishing appetite for supporting Israel.
The bilateral relationship [between Israel and the US] is unshakable, the official said. But playing politics with that relationship could blunt Secretary Kerrys enthusiasm for being Israels primary defender.

Some people just have a hard time understanding that Israel does not get a blank check or unlimited F-You's to the USA. Eventually those actions may leave Israel out in the cold. I tried explaining that to a knob head, and all they can do is say never, never, never.
It's really freakishly comical considering the amount of time the USA spends supporting the problem-child-only-democracy in the Mid East.
The USA should miss a veto at the UN to send a clear message that enough is enough.

(58,724 posts)1. Is your complaint with Netanyahu or with Israel in general?
The article seems to indicate that Livni (an Israeli politician) is calling out Netanyahu for his behavior, but your post seems to imply that the problem goes beyond him and towards Israel in general. Can you clarify your position on this matter?

Me too or Herzog .
You are very passionate about this topic as I am , being brought up in it, immersed in it,
training in Zionist youth leadership, being where my family and people come from.
You?
