So now that tRump has completely embarrassed the reThuglican party.....

What should those who are conservative and have views of smaller government and fiscally responsible management call themselves?

The Lincoln Group is a great collective, but could it be the new party?

Libertarians are a little less crazy than the current cultist-like base that is pandering to tRump.

Or should they call themselves, Retro Republicans? Like Pre-Trump and GW, although he looks SO much better in comparison.

We will still call them LO-OO-OO-SERS until they can ditch the White Supremacist baggage and idiotocracy demands of their party platform, but they should take the party back and get rid of these slime balls themselves. We can help for sure, but they have to ask.

Thots?

I think Rush Limbaugh brought back the old KKK type training.

He says that the 4 corners of deceit are: Government, Academia, Science & the Media.

You pull the factual basis for rational thought out from under people and tell them they have to trust NO ONE but "THE PARTY" and yeah, it's just like a cult.

I still think most reThugs are rich and think running up the bill and making DEMS pay for it on their terms is SOOOO funny.

But there were more sincere arguments once upon a time and some of it made some sense. Balancing the budget isn't a bad idea. It used to be their war cry.

Now the fact they thought it best to balance it on the backs of the poor instead of taxing the wealthiest at a fair rate, doesn't make sense. The poor ain't got no money honey.

ultimately rescue the Republican Party. But they may be better off letting the GOP finish it's self-destruction and start their own thing.

If they take back the party by ripping it away from the crazy cult folk, I'd be ok with that.

The average person gets the fact, finite funds, spend them wisely. Go earn more, rinse and repeat.

Rich people think money grows right out of their asses and that everyone has a fur or some other item to declare on their tax forms as depreciating or appreciating in value. (Honest to God story from a friend who took an H&R Block income tax seminar.) The tax code is like a hedge maze, but there is some sort of logic to it.

To me, that explains a lot about the reThugs.

And "small government" = less "regulations" (which we know as "protections) Less protections = more pollution, death, & destruction for us common folk.

I don't want them telling me what I can and can't do with my own body, for instance.

BUT I think making businesses or individuals responsible for cleaning up their own messes is a common sense way to address "regulations"

SURE it really is about regulating business etc... to prevent people from getting sick and/or dying for someone else's profit margin, but when you put it in simpler terms, look the people who make the mess own it, clean it up. Then it is about personal accountability, personal responsibility and that is a cornerstone of their long time party platform. So they can't stand on that virtue and argue about people and/or businesses cleaning up their own messes.

This COVID thing is insane though, isn't it? I was in line at a juice bar for lunch and this guy was ranting and raving about how shutting everything down for a illness that has a 99% survival rate is stupid.

Well if we had car accidents at the rate of COVID, and stopped taking precautions like stopping at red lights or stop signs or driving 90mph in residential zones, our cars might give us a high survival rate, but how many more deaths in general would there be? How full would hospitals be of "survivors" still in recovery for months? Is that any way to live either?

They just don't get the extremely HIGH rate of infection STILL makes those numbers insanely scary.

The party isn't embarrassed at all, save for a few, most of who don't rely on Republican voters anymore. Only a tiny fraction is capable of feeling any real shame, and that will quickly be overwritten by their hatred of Democrats.

Mitt Romney: Trump 'has a relatively relaxed relationship with the truth'

And Chris Christie.

AND OMG - GEORGIA'S SOS Brad Raffensperger sticking to his guns and making sure all the votes got counted first, THEN count them again to be sure. Telling the Senators to stuff themselves, priceless.
