After making headlines around the globe, transgendered Jenna Talackova took part in the Miss Universe Canada preliminary round Thursday. But judges vow to ignore the extra attention the 23-year-old has been getting.

Not everyone has fully evolved to accepting that this young transgender woman should be treated just like any other woman, but everyone agreed that she is beautiful.

And while I'm generally not one to care much for any beauty pageant, in this case it might help the most disenfranchised of the LGBT community build a little hope.
