Cyber-bullying crackdown one of top priorities for Gov. Cuomo

ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo is looking to crack down on cyber-bullying.

Cuomo has included the issue among his top priorities for the year, and has been in talks with lawmakers in a bid to reach an agreement on a bill before the Legislature’s session ends in June, the Daily News has learned.

Cuomo’s office declined to provide specifics, but legislative sources said “productive, three-way discussions” have taken place between the administration and Senate and Assembly members on ways to protect students from harassment that takes place through electronic communication and social media.

“I think it will get done,” said Assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell (D-Manhattan). “The governor likes to win, so when the governor says ‘I want to get it done,’ he often gets it done.”
