Homophobia in online gaming

I am a bit of a gamer and I have had enough. I only wish I was a skilled hacker even though I believe most of the bigoted remarks probably comes from preteens. It is rampant and deplorable. I used to ignore it- now I confront it as best as I can- but if you think what NC "ministers" have to say is bad- just try defending GLBT rights in modernwarfare or some other online multiplayer game. It is despicable and there is no way- no matter how hard I try- no matter how many personal stories I give- no matter how many historical facts I reference can I reach "anonymous". They call me bigoted and close minded because I disagree with their "belief". I show them facts about church and racism. The ignore it. Its like dealing with the entirety of the tea party and I really don't know what to do other than contact the Laughing Man. It is truly horribly disgusting and I just can't handle debating to an anonymous person anymore. I am a hardcore pacifist but I really don't think I can even help but assault the next bigot that doesn't heed my warnings in a personal meet anymore. I'm done. Fuck them homophobic bigots. My cousin did not choose to be hated by everyone in his state which sent him to attempted suicide then drugs then alcohol. Next person that tells me otherwise after I tell them his story gets a fucking mouth full of knuckles followed by an Irish jig on their soon to be crippled ass

I know in the game I play a lot, there are rules about that. I report people routinely for it too. They mute them if they do it and are reported.

I have noticed a tendency toward it a lot too. I take the time to report them when I see it on my screen. I want to enjoy the game without seeing that garbage on the screen.

So the humor and sensibility is likewise. Sort of like Free Republic.

All you can do in a situation like this is keep talking away. Maybe one day your words will be heard by one. That may not sound like much, but bigotry is conquered one person at at time.

You are a good person to keep battling a seeming losing battle.
