Casting for Faulkners "As I lay dying" is this week a few blocks from my house. James Franco stars

and directs. They emphasized men over 40 (both my partner and I are easily). We were extras in "O' Brother Where Art Thou" and "The Ponder Heart" so we have at least a little experience (though no lines).

I'd do it just to meet one of the sexiest men alive. How often do you get that kind of chance in podunk Mississippi?

I'll be interested to see the film version of "As I Lay Dying." The novel is written from the perspectives of the different characters, including that of the dead woman as she's being transferred to the place of her burial. That screenplay couldn't have been easy to write.

5. I've never read the book but I have tried to read a synopsis...it sounds complex

6. I read most of Faulkner's works about 20 to 25 years ago.

Many of them could warrant reading again; I've forgotten many of the details after all these years. However, I don't know if I'd have as much patience for Faulkner nowadays. My tastes have changed a lot.

10. Good luck! (aside) The Sound and the Fury remains my favorite novel. That and this one would be a

big undertaking to wrap into a screenplay, imo.
