about prioritizing the rights of GLBT people in this country behind a plethora of other concerns, that somehow seem more important.

I don't give a crap about Chavez. He is a politician and like all politicians are more beholden to the act of obtaining and maintaining power than the issues that an activist would support. Politicians favor power. Activists favor issues.

In terms of the LGBT issue itself, I again don't give a crap what Chavez thinks. Again, he's a politician and doesn't care about us unless it profits him.

And finally, on the issue of LGBT apologists. Anyone who suggests that we should take a backseat or who suggest that we should "get to the back of the bus" to borrow the phrase, I have absolutely no respect for.

In conclusion, the OP is a little looney. The end.

it's just not appropriate for us to criticize other countries when this place is so screwed up.
