Read The Witty Suggestion An Advice Columnist Gives To A Homophobic Parent

http://www.upworthy.com/read-the-witty-suggestion-an-advice-columnist-gives-to-a-homophobic-parent?c=upw1

Syndicated columnist Amy Dickinson received a letter from a parent who felt "betrayed" that their son "will not stop being gay." "Ask Amy" gives an incredible response that certainly made me laugh. Hey, we may have people who believe crappy things like this parent, but we also have awesome people like Amy who offer sarcasm mixed with important real talk to highlight the ridiculousness of their homophobic views.

Didn't she know that forgetting three birthdays in a row causes kids to go gay?

when I read that.

That could be used in a class as a way of getting students to understand "empathy." I love the way she turned the table on the advice-seeker.
