How will you spend Thanksgiving?

How will you spend Thanksgiving? Like any normal day? Will you travel or stay home? Will you spend it with family, in-laws or friends?

My partner (I dislike the term, but prefer to wait to call him 'husband' until we are married when it is legal where we live) and I will be staying home. His supportive parents will be coming to visit to enjoy a meal that he will prepare. He loves to cook! My parents, who live much closer, ignored the invitation to come over. My sister responded to my invitation, but declined, saying that I was free to see her at my parents' house. Oh well. We will have a nice holiday regardless.

I'll be good.

I hope your holiday goes well!

Living alone with no dependents, it would take a month for me to eat a whole turkey. So of course a whole turkey is what a local church gave me -- which I donated to ANOTHER local church!

The ones who are political are liberal or moderate. The only conservative of the bunch is basically a RINO. Not sure why he votes republican, sadly other than racism.

The place was just landscaped too. I've a mind to send a FB message to a niece and ask if her mom (my older sister) is going to ever contact me again.

11. This is my first big holiday since my eloved passed this last spring

Two weeks ago, mom announced she was moving in with me. (Uhhh, okay...) She requested some turkey breast so I've been up since oh-dark-thirty preparing a repast which we'll share shortly.

There's no letup in the stress and adjustments this year. I've decided I'm dragging out all the holiday decorations and will be dolling up the house later. I need that, need to immerse in good memories now to brace for the next difficult year. Mom's very frail and might not be around for the next holidays. We'll spend some time to make friends in the meantime.

12. We had the usual family get-together...

Since Lyric and i moved up here to Morgantown 12 yrs ago, wherever we're living has been the focal-point for family gatherings that involve food -- because she and i are far better cooks than any of her extended family.

This year was the usual...
Our immediate family (me, Lyric, Fuzzy, and LyricLad) plus Lyric's younger sis and her spouse and their son, a couple of Lyric's cousins, and a handful of long-time friends... maybe a dozen of us all-together.

No arguments about politics, religion, or even football...

Just a good time had by all, and WAY too much food.
