Second TX Judge Rules State Marriage Ban Unconstitutional
In February, a federal judge ruled that the Texas ban on same sex marriage was unconstitutional. Today, a state district court judge made the same ruling http://www.bilerico.com/2014/04/second_tx_judge_rules_state_marriage_ban_unconstit.php#ObTqbk1I4WUaHAsL.99
A state district judge has ruled that Texas's 2005 voter-approved marriage discrimination amendment is unconstitutional. The ruling comes two months after a federal judge reached the same conclusion in a separate case. I do not trust either the Fifth Circuit or the Texas Supreme Court on this issue but it is harder to ignore two separate courts finding that the law is unconstitutional. There is no formal written opinion but you can read the judgement and the findings of fact and conclusion of law in the link.

1. Holy crap! If Texas overturns, only a matter of time before the rest of the country follows!

2. Has the number in favor of marriage equality really doubled in 8 1/2 years?
Or were those strongly opposed overrepresented, in a non-election year, to begin with?

3. I think it's the end of the BFEE and their madness.
We saw homophobia at its absolute worst during that period (fuck you Karl Rove) and I think people were beginning to see the ugliness that prejudice leads to and how it has a huge affect on those that they know. It sucks that it came to that but it's lead to a near revolution for equality. If Texas overturns expect the rest of the country to follow suit.

4. Could be a highly visible signpost to what's actually happening among the public, nation wide.
We'll see, but welcome rulings.
