If you love Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi...

You really should see their new sitcom, "Vicious". It's playing on some PBS stations but if it's not airing where you live you can buy the DVD via PBS or at Costco. My wife & I just bought the DVD and watched the first three episodes.

Here's a synopsis courtesy of PBS:
Vicious tells the story of partners Freddie (Ian McKellen) and Stuart (Derek Jacobi), who have lived together in a small central London flat for nearly 50 years. Constantly picking each other apart and holding on to petty slights for decades, Freddie and Stuart are always at each other’s throats, cracking snide remarks aimed at the other’s age, appearance and flaws. However, underneath their vicious, co-dependent fighting, they have a deep love for one another. Freddie and Stuart are often joined by feisty best friend Violet (Frances de la Tour, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Ash (Iwan Rheon, “Game of Thrones”), their young, upstairs neighbor.

Setting, heavy red crushed velvet cloth drapped over the windows, all furniture arranged around the tele.

Episode 1: Tea and "scones" (Offered by Stuart to Violet and Ash).

Episode 2: "Cheating heart Salad", heart of palm, greens, onion, and cherry tomatoes with a red wine vinegrette. This was the episode where they thought Suart was cheating, when he was working to get Freddie the jacket.

Episode 3: Hungarian Goulash Soup (for violet's Hungarian boyfriend)

Episode 4: small cut, and cubed club sandwiches on toothpicks (since they went out clubbing)

Episode 5: Bring out the home made candles, in the pink dotted bags, a bottle of wine (which would have "been more useful&quot , and serve up the stuffed roasted bacon wrapped chicken that the vegan girlfriend couldn't tolerate

Episode 6: (we took a little bit of license with this one) For the fish course, we served pan seared Ahi Tuna, which we called the aggressive fish episode (where Violet attacks Ash in the kitchen)

Christmas special - There was a lot of material for this one, but since we showed this one last, the 7th course was a dessert of Mince Pies served on a dog shaped platter (since poor Baltizar ate the pies).
