Canada: gay couple asks for refund after spotting anti-marriage equality sign

Story here

A same-sex couple from St. John's is upset after discovering the jewelry store that sold them their engagement rings has posted a sign that seems to oppose same-sex marriage — but one of the store's owners says he's allowed to post his religious beliefs.

I worked for. He was a bagger before bagging was cool, back during the Clinton administration. On day I came in while everyone else was at lunch and see this anti-Clinton flyer on our bullitin board. Produce by I believe Gun Owners of America. I knew who the culprit was and took it down and put it in my desk.

He comes back and notices it was gone and is bitching about someone taking it. I told him I had it and explained that we don't put stuff like that up here and how it could piss off some customers. I wasn't the boss though, just his supervisor, so I gave it back and he put it back up. Bad move.

The part-owner/manager comes in a sees it and blows up! I point him to baggerboy and he gets his ass chewed! Now the boss could not have been a bigger Republican, loves his guns and did not like Clinton, but he knows not to bring politics into his business, except working the state legislature or stuff like that. We sold a shitload of beer to both Republicans and Democrats. One of our best allies was a Democratic state representative that was also a local bar owner. Nope. There was really never anything to gain by putting up stuff like that. They didn't even like us to have any political bumper stickers on our cars parked there.

Remembering that still brings a smile to my face. I warned him though!

For some reason this reminds me of when I was in the Navy and a co-worker put up a girlie pic. Took it down, right back up. Put up a Playgirl centerfold. Both gone, problem solved. Sauce for the goose...... ;->
