Hera, give us strength to make it through 2016, so the world can finally see Wonder Woman in all her glory on the big screen.
Forward all fruit baskets and thank yous to The CW because during the network's "Dawn of the Justice League" special on Tuesday, fans were not only treated to a new "Suicide Squad" trailer, but also the first footage from one of DC's most anticipated titles, "Wonder Woman."
Geoff Johns, the chief creative officer of DC Comics, and Kevin Smith introduced the film, which hits theaters June 23, 2017, in front of a table holding Princess Diana's shield and famous lasso.
"Wonder Woman's like one of the greatest superheroes out there, but people don't know her origins like they know Superman's origin or Batman's origin," Johns said. "So, what we want to do in the film is really tell people who she is, where she comes from and why she does what she does."

(53,956 posts)All the damn male superhero stand-alone movies, it is time for the Rise of the Wonder Women of Superheroes! There are some incredible, well-rounded, inspiring female superheroes and there time has come!

(35,619 posts)On the 1970s "Wonder Woman" TV show, even when Nazis shot a missile at her, she would toss it aside instead of throwing it back, because she didn't want to kill anyone.

(53,956 posts)Watch any of the 70's superheroes shows and it is the same. This will portray WW in a more authentic light; she is an Amazon warrior after all. Hopefully, it won't be like that horrible TV show remake where she was portrayed as a psycho. I am so glad that never aired (saw a bootleg copy).

I'm glad that didn't become a TV series.

(53,956 posts)When she stabbed a man with a rebar, I actually jumped out of my chair and screeched, "WHAT THE FUCK?!?" I will say, I loved Elizabeth Hurley as Cheetah. Palicki could have made a good WW, but the character was written as a twit and a psycho; that is not Wonder Woman.

(16,423 posts)Everything has to be gritty. They suck all the colors out of the pictures and overlay them with either a bluish hue (-> Jurassic World) or a brownish hue (-> Wonder Woman).
Hollywood knows only two colors: blue and orange/brown. (Look at movieposters.)
And now I'm really off-topic. I'm just disappointed that Hollywood has become so cowardish in the use of visual elements that they deprive Superman and Wonder Woman of the colors red, blue and yellow. Everything has to be dark.
