The results are in: gay marriages least likely to end in divorce!
The Dutch have opened civil marriage for same-sex couples an impressive 15 years ago. Their Central Bureau for Statistics (Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek, CBS) has monitored how often Dutch marriages have ended in divorce over those years. And the results are... quite counter-intuitive.
Most likely to end in divorce: lesbian marriages (30% of Dutch lesbian marriages are not parted by Death). Least likely to end in divorce: gay marriages! Only 15 % of male-male couples have filed for dissolution of the marriage. And that means that gay marriages are actually more stable than straight marriages, 18% of which end in divorce.
So much for the argument that gays are ruining marriage: we fabulous men are actually driving the average divorce rate DOWN!

As an aside: did anybody else notice that in supposedly godless Dutch society, the sanctity of marriage is upheld much more seriously than among the "godfearing" Americans? Even the Dutch lesbian divorce rate is nowhere near the American average divorce rate of 64%. Clearly, if you want stable marriages, the trick is to be VERY liberal in faith, and try to be as gay as possible in the rest of your marriage.
