Anti-LGBT Activists 'Testing' Target By Sending Men Into Women's Rooms

It turns out that anti-LGBT activists are right that men are taking advantage of a transgender-inclusive policy at Target to go into women’s restrooms — and those men are anti-LGBT activists.

In an interview this morning with “Breitbart News Daily,” the American Family Association's director of governmental affairs, Sandy Rios, said that activists have been “testing” Target’s policy by sending men into women’s rooms at the retail chain.

The Religious Right group has been leading a boycott of Target after the company said it would allow transgender people to use the restroom that matches their gender identity, which it claims will lead to open season for “sexual predators.”

The program’s host, Stephen Bannon, contended that rather than being inclusive, Target is “trying to exclude people who are decent, hard-working people who don’t want their four-year-old daughter to have to go into a bathroom with a guy with a beard in a dress.”

Maybe they don't enjoy sex and only do the missionary style filthy McNasty every few years in order to beget offspring. OK, I can see that when its down to close your eyes, keep your clothes on and its slam, bang, thank you, ma'am. But why is sex more important than feeding the hungry, or giving shelter to the homeless, and all the other charitable activities that religious organizations assure us they're spending money on?

It just seems creepy, in a titillating and voyeuristic way, to concentrate on what other people's imaginary sex life might be like.

Christian Group Admits To Sending Men Into Women’s Bathrooms To Scare You Into Hating Trans People

<snip>
AFA is correct in believing that having a right-wing Christian fundamentalist storm into a women’s bathroom for no discernible reason would be deeply traumatizing. Unlike other women, whether transgender or not, these AFA volunteers aren’t there to use the bathroom. They are there to scare people. It’s unclear how that translates to a need to ban transgender people. Instead, the scariest people are – yet again – the ones who are actively pushing for discrimination.

It cannot be overstated just how little evidence there is that transgender people pose a danger to young girls if they are allowed to use the gendered bathroom they identify with. No case has ever been found that demonstrates that this is a tactic child predators seriously use. It’s so non-existent, in fact, that a right-wing hate group like the American Family Association has had to get male volunteers to do it themselves.
