PARIS (AP) -- Tens of thousands of people have marched in Paris to call for the repeal of a law allowing gay marriage, six months before France's next presidential election.
The protesters ended up at Trocadero Plaza, near the Eiffel Tower. Police estimated the crowd at 24,000, while organizers gave a figure of 200,000.

It seems so senseless, to me, that people expend so much energy and negativity on issues that have no direct adverse effect on them.
Of course I was raised by sensible, sane parents who espoused ideals such as "live and let live", the golden rule, as originally written and not the do unto others before they do unto you, or because you can.

(53,949 posts)I watched "Gaycation with Ellen Page" on VICE and the episode about France was very eye-opening. I, like I am sure many others, think "France" and automatically think "open society in regards to LGBT". WRONG! So, this news is not a surprise to me. France is less liberal in regards to GLBT rights and concerns than many might think.
