I enjoyed the parade yesterday.

But I have to say I was really pissed off that there was protestors that stopped the parade. GOAL which is the gay cops group that marches every year was stopped by protestors. This angers me because I know many of their members and they are a good group. How dare people tell us who should March in our parade!

The parade was fun and the main message was to push for the full civil rights of Transgender Americans. The parade finished about 9 pm and gets longer every year, and was televised for the first time this year.

A great day!

2. It wasn't Marchers that stopped the parade.

It appears to have been protestors who jumped in the middle of the March just to block GOAL.

4. Well people have opinions on things and that is fine but stopping our parades is wrong.

And telling us to remove our gay cops from our parade is appalling.

There is a very legitimate problem in Columbus between POC & Columbus Police(head kicking cop & at least 2 AA men shot & killed by police, w/o legal consequences.) The protesting activists also have issues with Stonewall, the pride committee and how the arrests by CPD were handled.~I do not know if the activists have/had problems w/ LGBT cop groups here in Columbus.~
I can understand some of the issues.
I also know that if LGBT & POC groups cannot address and try to repair the damaged between these communities, the beneficiaries of the split will be only to RW authoritians & the GOP.
I hate this split & damage.

People can deal with protests. The one thing as I said before is telling us we should not have police in our marches that bother me.

7. I don't think we should have police in our parades. It sends a message that POC aren't welcome.

At least in my experience, the police are not on our side anyway.

through the years they aren't the hard assesI thought them to be.

And to me at least telling Gay cops to not March is unacceptable imho. I understand others think different.

I don't know what others cities will do but Heritage of Pride in NYC will never read!over GOAL.
