Pat Robertson says there will be 'atomic war' if Christians can't discriminate against LGBTQ people

Televangelist Pat Robertson said that God will destroy America if the Equality Act passes.
The Equality Act would, among other things, add sexual orientation and gender identity to existing federal civil rights legislation, banning discrimination against LGBTQ people in jobs, housing, public accommodations, and other areas.

Robertson urged viewers to call their representatives and tell them to vote against the Equality Act. “This is a devastating blow to religious freedom and to the sanctity of America,” Robertson said, citing a common criticism of the Equality Act:
if a religious store manager gets sued for firing a transgender employee or a religious doctor faces discipline for refusing to treat a gay person’s broken leg then their religious freedom has been violated.

“If you want to bring the judgment of God on this nation, you just keep this stuff up.There is plenty of stuff that is going on, when you look at the potential of atomic war, when you look at the potential of a solar strike or something on our grid, you could go down the line of devastation that could happen to our nation. We don’t want that. We want the blessing of God, not the curse God,” Robertson said.

He would have been saying if they can't criminalize homosexuality then "God" will destroy 'Merica.

Its sad that here in 2019 people are still gullible enough to be tricked into believing their future is at the whim of an unseen sky god who is still holding a 6,000 year old grudge over a damn tree.

Dear ole Pat just turned 89 in March of this year. He needs to spend his days eating tapioca and searching for a warm spot to sit in the sun. I fear he'll be on his way to another warm spot soon!

In all seriousness, how can anyone take this old fossil seriously? That picture is frightening!

How about some better stewardship of his creation, then? Isn't that part of it? Taking care of the Earth and all of creation was part of the pact with Adam?

Oh right, you're a big dominionist, Pat. Humans were put here by God to do nothing more than exploit the Earth, nothing at all to do with stewardship. So, when wildfires consume the entire west coast from Alaska through BC, Washington, Oregon, and California, you can blame the curse of God because gays, but will forever deny that corporate greed, pollution, exploitation, and destruction is what's going to really kill us all.

Sadly, plenty of brainwashed souls not only hang on his every word and send him money to keep his hatemongering going. I hope someday that people like him are finally laughed into the margins where they belong.
