In his State of the Union address, President Donald Trump managed to work in a paragraph that included an admirable goal: to end HIV transmission in the United States by 2030.
Trumps throwaway promise was met with scorn by LGBTQ activists who note that the administrations nonstop attacks on LGBTQ people and decimation of HIV funding put the lie to his rhetoric.
