My nephews post

Sort of annoyed me, though I think he was trying to be funny. He said he misunderstood pride and had fifteen lions to sell. Trying not to get my undies in a bunch, I asked if they were rainbow colored. “If you have grit and dye” was his response.

Honestly, that is where I became pissed. Grit? Get disowned and tell me about grit. Be reinstated because they need your help. Risk your job to go to a Pride parade. Stand in front of a car with teenage boys who are breaking windshields, when the cops won’t come to help. Watch friends, and your brother die because “they deserve it”. Meh. Grit.

Most kids between 11 to about 18 lack any meaningful brain tissue... Do not be spoiled by Malla, Greta and the like.

Take this as a learning opportunity and swallow the acid coming up from your stomach. Remember, you are the adult, they are not despite the fact they are thinking they are at least 10+ years older than they are and you obviously do not know crap.

For the record - I have three and the eldest thinks I am an imbecile who only needs to be respected because I have the WIFI password and know where the chocolate is hidden.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
