Hamburger Mary's supporters played ABBA songs to drown out neo-Nazi protestors

About a dozen demonstrators led by Protect Texas Kids founder Kelly Neidert gathered across the street from the restaurant to protest its Sunday Drag Brunch shows. The small crowd included at least one man wearing a Nazi symbol and members of anti-LGBTQ hate groups.

The pro-LGBTQ protesters, reportedly organized by the Screwston Anti-Fascist Committee, held up signs that read “Pro-LGBT+ Anti-Fascist” and “Bigots Go Home,” while blasting pop songs to drown out the group’s hateful rhetoric.

“I don’t think parents should be allowed to take their kids to these events, and I think that there should be a law banning it from happening,” Neidert told the Houston Chronicle, echoing recent anti-LGBTQ misinformation that has proliferated on right-wing social media and has been adopted by mainstream Republican lawmakers.

“My biggest thing is when they start pushing their indoctrination or agenda toward kids,” Nidert told Houston’s KPRC 2. “When they are adult and doing adult things, whatever, but when they are having these highly inappropriate sexual provocative shows and they are allowing children inside and parents encouraging their kids to hand the performers money, that’s where I and most conservatives have a problem.”

So having a drag queen in makeup, a 40 pound wig and a pair of thigh-high boots is "harmful to our children"? But having your kid see someone wearing a swastika or a white hood or a Proud Incels shirt with a gun on it is perfectly healthy? These fuckers are getting more absurd and dangerous by the day.

I don't have kids. If I do, though, I'm with DBoon above. I'd rather have my kid see 50 drag queens in the skimpiest and tightest outfits imaginable over having my kid see one goddamned reich-wing incel wearing a swastika or dressed up in a Patriot Incel stormtrooper costume.

The only people being harmed by drag queens are melty little snowflakes who just need to melt already. Drag queens are not the ones hurting kids. It's the fucking neo-Nazis with their Hitler fetish who are.

Bitch Neidert should spend more time targeting people like Bang Bang Boebert's husband and Groomer Gaetz and less time bullying drag queens if she really wants to "protect kids." But then, does she think we're stupid? She doesn't care about protecting kids.

Bless the counter-protesters. Bless Antifa. I hope the Nazis will be hearing ABBA in their sleep for the next 6 months. "Bigots go home" indeed. Go back to whatever dimension you came from and stay there.

There's a Hamburger Mary's about 20 miles from me. Maybe I ought to drag myself there someday.
