I was finally on a jury involving LGBT

I have been on several juries on here but never on one that involved any LGBT issue until tonight. Here is the result

At Wed Mar 7, 2012, 10:27 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

DU3 jury gets it right.

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

While I get the applause for having the trash taken out, reposting it is only calling MORE attention to it than leaving it unhidden in the first place, and in fact worse as this is a Meta OP, not buried in the original Lounge thread. We all get it - sometimes vile trash is locked by a jury. Original poster was banned for posting it, so it has been handled. Please lock under community standards of continuing to promote and draw attention to it.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Mar 7, 2012, 10:34 PM, and the Jury voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: Agree with the alerter. The OP is just instigating and should be brought to task for it.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: The type of post that was locked on here all the time. I am a member of the LGBT forum and we see the posts that juries allow to stand that are rude, insensitive, and homophobic/transphobic. Posting this to show people what a bad post is that thanking a jury for getting it right is perfectly fair IMO. This may be a liberal community, but there are A LOT of people who don't get it.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: This post itself was ok, but it's too bad that the poster had link to the rotten post to explain this one.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

4. I may not know the intent of the meta-page so it could be good that the post

is gone. I do think it is valuable or us to post jury decisions that are right (and ones that are wrong) to continue to educate this forum about bias. If a liberal/progressive page can't get it right, who can?

7. I shouldn't have linked to the offensive post.

I had hoped the thread would die.

I deleted it after reading your jury results and a PM from a DUer asking me to delete it.

If the alerter had asked me to, I probably would have done so at that time.

8. You did good - in showing how responsive the jury can be

as well as noting that you asked for a delete first.

I wish it would have died too. That mental image was disgusting.

I also get the 'win' (member PPRd), but no need to showcase the vile comments in a new venue/forum for even more exposure to that filth.

Recommend googling tubgirl to anyone who has that particular interest as DU is not the place for such mental images.

What has been seen cannot be unseen, and that goes for the more descriptive visual narrations as well.

6. I was just excited to actually get to be on a jury for something I cared about

instead of a stupid argument with 50 replies where the whole lot of them should have been deleted.
