How do you feel about this statement from Rep. Kathleen Rice?

I've been thinking about this entire mess and I agree with Representative Rice. Democrats need to walk what they talk, with regard to Franken and Conyers. I really liked both of these guys. I was ecstatic when Al was finally seated, but I read the testimony of those women he groped. It was quite explicit and utterly convincing. We can't just wave it away. If we do, if this is who we are, we might as well shut up about Roy Moore, 'cause no one is going to listen to what we say or believe we mean a word of it.

Whose case still feels different as of now, I agree with Representative Rice's statement. You don't get a pass because you are a Democrat. Even if you did good things for the Country and Democratic party. People are people first, and politicians and party members second.

If we give Conyers a pass, how can we argue that the same shouldn't go for Trump?

As for Franken, I'm awaiting the outcome of the ethics investigation. We'll hopefully have a much better understanding of the extent of Franken's actions and how many victims there actually are. I'm reserving judgement until then.

the same benefit of the doubt? Alabama voters are weighing that right now. As of today, Moore is back on top by 5%. The way we're handling this stuff isn't helping. Pelosi's defense of Conyers was especially not helpful.

or to go to jail, if that was a possibility.

But, in reality, voters in Alabama are going to decide. The ReThugs are permitting it, even though some of them are vocally opposed to Moore's candidacy.

Anyway, as much as it disgusts many of us, there is nothing we can do about it for now. However, if he is elected, an ethics investigation, similar in nature to what will be conducted for Franken, absolutely be undertaken. It's not to say the alleged offenses are equivalent. They're not. But both men should be subjected to the same scrutiny of their actions, for sure. And there should be consequences for any wrongdoing.

The James O'Keefe/Project Veritas/Jamie Phillips story?

I truly believe that something's wrong with Conyers, and that he has to leave.

On top of that, there are the sexual misconduct issues/allegations which of course have to be investigated, and addressed accordingly.

But does Rep. Rice know or even CARE about the Washington Post story concerning slime ball James O'Keefe/Project Veritas/Jamie Phillips?

'Washington Post' Says It Foiled Apparent Sting By James O'Keefe's Activist Group.

The Washington Post published video of reporter Stephanie McCrummen (left) speaking to Jaime Phillips, who claimed to be a source for a story about embattled politician Roy Moore. Days later, members of the paper's staff watched Phillips walk into the offices of activist James O'Keefe's Project Veritas organization.

The Washington Post says a woman who approached reporters with a story that Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore got her pregnant as a teen actually "appears to be part of undercover sting operation" run by conservative activist James O'Keefe — suspicions the newspaper says were confirmed when the woman was spotted walking into the offices of Project Veritas on Monday.

O'Keefe, who founded Project Veritas, is countering the newspaper's story with his own narrative, releasing secretly recorded videos of Post employees that he says prove "how shockingly one-sided their editorial team is."

O'Keefe and the Post have put out dueling videos of a brief interview outside his offices on Monday in which the conservative activist seeks to turn the tables and question Post reporter Aaron C. Davis, who repeatedly asks O'Keefe whether the woman works for him.

The Post also published video footage of one of its reporters speaking to the woman who claimed to be Moore's victim. In it, reporter Stephanie McCrummen asks her who she is working for and tells her, "If there's anything you want to say about why you're here and how you came to be sitting here, I really would like to know that story as well."

Rice addressing Conyers is one thing. But she'll probably go silent when Moore's elected to the Senate , and she probably won't say anything about the Washington Post story concerning O'Keefe and liar Jamie Phillips.

She'll probably KEEP going after Franken if he doesn't resign

Prove me wrong Rep. Rice. Walk and chew gum at the same time. Talk about Conyers AND about O'Keefe/Phillips/Washington Post story which is STUNNING, because it shows that ANYONE can be PAID to accuse any politician of anything. And in this climate, Bannon/Stone et all would think nothing of putting women up to LIE on whatever Democrat.

thuglicans stay and fight even if they know they're guilty (Mall Rat Moore). Dems... well... we know how they roll over. I'm not talking about hideous sexual misconduct that's proven and has to be punished. But Rice is STILL calling for Franken to resign and she went after Pelosi Kirsten Gillibrand as we know went after Bill Clinton recently

Mall Rat Moore WILL be in the Senate. thuglicans aren't going to expel him. They need his vote. Meanwhile, Rice will still probably be calling for Franken to resign 2 months from now

Why give Trump a pass?

I see Rice as part of the authoritarian left that see their main opponents as being Democrats rather than Republicans
