I had not heard.

I grew up with them, as most of us did.

I am going now to watch the videos you posted and cry a little.

My mother actually saw them in the '60s, was an usher at a concert in our small town, and I was lucky enough to finally see them in the '80s, a reunion tour at a much larger venue. Mary Travers had the voice of an angel, truly one of a kind...

Like my mother did. But I was totally fascinated just to see them at all, always thought Mary was so beautiful, and that voice! And when I saw them, it was with my grandmother.

I was fortunate to grow up listening to the anti war message from the incomparable likes of Peter, Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan and their contemporaries. Now, most everyone is saying the invasion of Iraq was a terrible mistake. Those of us who were paying attention knew that it was an awful mistake at the time. I took part in those anti war marches - the ones that we never saw on the TV news.

... Peter, Paul, and Mary are wonderful. Hearts and souls for justice and peace.

Thanks for the memorial tonight.
