Funeral Tuesday for fallen Omaha officer Kerrie Orozco

X post from GD by request

Visitation will be held Monday at St. John's Catholic Church at Creighton University. Omaha police officers and close friends will be invited from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friends and the public will be invited from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The vigil will follow at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Church. Additional seating will be provided at the CentutyLink Center Omaha with a large-screen video feed.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Council Bluffs.

___ This will be the first time I'll wear my civilian Omaha Police Dept. uniform since I retired last November.

When I was hurt on the job in the Omaha Public Works Dept I could no longer do the required heavy lifting. I was facing a disability or reduced early retirement. I was extremely lucky to land a uniformed civilian position at the OPD front desk. The dept. let me stay even after I was diagnosed with FTD until I could retire. I was there 2 years and 4 months.

I'm sorry for her family, friends and the entire department

The things you have posted about her make her a perfect person for this group. Her so many charitable acts, her boxing for charity, her service to her city and her love for her family

Thank you for posting here, OS. I know that you will honor her at her funeral as much as you have here
