What I've seen of it is, at least, very entertaining. It's very punk, of the sort that existed before people started hyphenating the hell out of punk

The movie is entertaining as well - I don't care what anyone says. But I wouldn't take it as a replacement for the comics. Ice Cube as a kangaroo, goddamn.

...And why I think Billy Joe Armstrong can go DIAFF.

There's no one who can say that's not great.

...But I suppose I'm getting off-topic

The movie is silly nonsense which aspires to be nothing more than background visuals for your altered state of choice.

I'm told the comic is fun, though.

are now far more easily found via the internet.

Folks who don't remember the pre-internet era can be forgiven for not remembering when things were disseminated via xerox machines, or maxell tapes, or crude flyers taped to telephone poles. It gave an edge to things, part of being a small group "in the know".

The 1995 movie, starring Lori Petty, tried to straddle the line between "edgy" and commercially viable IMHO, and didn't do a terribly effective job of either.

And it's worth remembering, in that vein, that once upon a time "Howard The Duck" was likewise considered subversive.
