Co-host Elections: Polling Place # 1

Co-host voting has begun. Polls will close on July 24th.

We had an enthusiastic response to the call for co-hosts. Nine of our members have volunteered. I had hoped that we would be able to identify three co-hosts through this process, but with so many qualified candidates I believe that we should select at least five co-hosts.

Because the DU poll option allows for only one vote per person I have set up three "Polling Place" threads. This allows each of you to vote for three candidates, one in each thread. Please review the nominees' statements in this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/11397653

and select your top three candidates. Remember you may vote for one person in each Polling Place.

LaurenG raised the question of whether we could simply let all of the nominees become co-hosts. I think that's a great idea and consistent with a feminist approach of collaborative efforts. I have added "All of the above" option to each polling place

A few other guidelines:

--Please vote for up to three of the candidates (one per polling place.) If you only wish to vote for one candidate please vote in Polling Place #1.

--Please do not vote for the same person in more than one Polling Place.

--Please do not vote for "All of the Above" in more than one Polling Place.

--Please do not vote for yourself.

When the voting period ends next Tuesday (7/24) I'll sum the votes from each Polling Place. The top five vote getters will become co-hosts.

If "All of the Above" is among the top five, the entire slate of candidates will become co-hosts.

If you have any questions about the process, please post here.

Thank you all for participating in the Feminists Group.

I look forward to hosting with any and all of these fine candidates.

Shouldn't the "all the above" choice be on all three Polling Places? obamanut2012 Jul 2012 #1
I put it in only Polling Place 1 because I wanted to avoid multiple votes Gormy Cuss Jul 2012 #2

but on reflection I can just add it to all three spots and ask people to choose it in only one place.

Thanks, obamanut2012.

I get that you don't want us to vote "all of the above" more than once but the implication is that a person could vote once for "all of the above" and then cast their second and third votes for individuals. Is this what you intend, or are you asking those of us voting "all of the above" to vote only once, choosing that option and leaving it at that?

That way if "All" loses, you still will have votes counted for individuals.

Every voter is entitled to up to three votes.
