AP FACT CHECK: No, Trump didn’t save preexisting conditions

By HOPE YEN
January 13, 2020

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump made a striking claim Monday, insisting it was he who ensured that people with preexisting medical problems will always be covered by health insurance.

He wasn’t.

He also complained anew that Democrats didn’t allow him to send lawyers to the impeachment inquiry. The opposite is true: Democrats invited him to send lawyers to the inquiry and he said no.

HEALTH CARE

TRUMP: “I was the person who saved Pre-Existing Conditions in your Healthcare, you have it now, while at the same time winning the fight to rid you of the expensive, unfair and very unpopular Individual Mandate.” — tweet.

THE FACTS: People with preexisting medical problems have health insurance protections because of President Barack Obama’s health care law, which Trump is trying to dismantle.

That way, their real plans won't be known by the voters until after the election, at which time they can repeal the ACA, including preexisting condition, of course.

You can't believe anything he says...never, ever.

We need to understand that a tyrant in waiting can say anything they want to and it is not deemed a lie by his loyalist followers.

He knows that. His show is about pushing that stuff out as a shock effect on one side and a dogma to the other. The basic point is to confuse and discredit everything as much as possible. That's how you slowly get a population ready for the final blow he intends to inflict on the country. We are being worked like a sideshow crowd with every tweet and false line he spews.

It is methodical and beyond any pathological lying. It is purposeful and it has a motivation to it. That's the thing to remember. Calling out the lies merely accentuates them, (I mean its okay, but) and underscores the Fascist strategy being effectively used to dismantle the system from news to social media to the functioning of government.

May he believes if he repeats it often enough people will believe him.
