Handle to help getting in an out of a car?

I hate to put a name of a company, but this is what a therapist at the rehab where spouse is now after an open heart surgery recommended.

https://stander.com/product/2082-metro-car-handle-plus/

Of course it is now out of stock..

May also work with the swivel cushion; will have to inquire further but wonder whether anyone here has worked with something like that.

Thanks.

There are times that Amazon can be helpful. This may be one. I got one of these for my mom after her hip surgery. It made a big difference for her. Much more stable than the handle on the car door. It gave her confidence to get out and moving again.

We both could use help standing from a car seat, but not sure about this design.
If you look at the pics of the guy in this pic/link

https://stander.com/product/handybar-lite-auto-assist-handle-combo-pack/

you can see the problem. His left shoulder and angled arm are gonna take a big strain as he moves further out of the car so he can have room to stand.
All his weight would be on that handle as his arm moves further behind his body. The slender younger people used in the ad pics might be able to to use it, but older, heavier people would have a problem, esp. with bad shoulders or hands.

I do like the seatbelt handle tool, tho.

You insert the handle in the door hinge and lean on it to stand up (supports up to 300 lbs, it says)

I realized that I was using the side door to get in and out, and it was probably not doing the side door any favors to support my weight.

It works great. I keep it in a little "holster" that I made right by the door. Just have to remember to use it.
