GENERAL health info, post-op: EDITED

Surgeon's office contacted to say dressing removal should be done today, so did go, my GP/and LPN and nurse DID it, so I'm 1/3 bald. WON't post pic cause it ain't charming, but now I know what my naked head looks like. Hopkins staff and my GP staff called, paying lots of attention. (NOT something I crave, but necessary for healing.)
HAVE follow up appointment Monday with my GP's associate. Surgery (brain) was Wednesday, and I was discharged yesterday/Thursday.

1. When I haven't been able to reach Drs for husband due to their vacation or weekends,

I’ve taken him to urgent care. If you are concerned about removing/changing dressing that might be an option.

4. BEEN doing that, that is, neurosurgeon's office, and they've not responded.

My GP ((NP)) uncertain what to look for, but imo removing dressing doesn't mean looking for anything.

5. Perhaps you should consider going to Urgent Care as suggested above.

Your own GP is saying she is not qualified to handle the situation.

And because of your recent surgery and location (brain) of the dressing, you need professional advice.
You don't want an infection or complications connected to post op brain surgery issues.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Definitely do not get area wet.
